Youtube Convention 2022 – your best options

YouTube conferences are resuming in-person events for 2022. And organizers, creators, and fans couldn’t be happier. If you’ve never attended a YouTube conference, this is a great year to consider it.

According to Bizzabo, a whopping 95% of marketers say that in-person events help them to achieve their business goals. Could attending a YouTube conference help you reach goals for your channel? We can’t promise it will. But we can – almost – guarantee that you’ll learn at least a thing or two.

So here’s the round-up for everything you’ll need to know about YouTube conferences in 2022.

YouTube Conference #1: PAX East

Started in 2004, PAX celebrates gaming and gaming culture. Fans love that streamers from YouTube and Twitch attend. This year, the PAX East  Arena will be hosting competitions for esports enthusiasts. Rumor is that there’s supposed to be some cool prizes up for grabs.

There will also be panel discussions for creators. One of this year’s more interesting offerings? Managing imposter syndrome and strategies for supporting your own mental health. Slot this one in for Saturday afternoon if you’re interested.

If you’re a YouTuber with a Discord server, you can apply to host a community meetup.

Dates: Thursday April 21, 2022 to Sunday April 24, 2022

Location: Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts

Cost for Creators: $235 gives you access to all four days of PAX East. You can also purchase one-day tickets for $62 per day.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols: All attendees need to provide proof of vaccination and wear a face mask. Refunds are not available (but you can sell or give your ticket to someone else).

YouTube Conference #2: VidCon

VidCon, presented by TikTok, is likely the biggest convention for digital video creators. It launched in Los Angeles, but events now take place across five continents.

There are three “tracks” that attendees can choose from: community, creator, or industry. Creators will benefit from workshops, panels, and keynote speakers. Featured creators are still being added to the program, which you can view on their Twitter account.

This year’s highlights include discussions on creating content bundles, establishing a Discord community, and financial planning for YouTubers.

Dates: Wednesday June 22, 2022 to Saturday June 25, 2022

Location: Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California

Cost for Creators: $205 if purchased before May 31, 2022. You also have the option to add an on-demand subscription for $199. The subscription allows you to watch (and rewatch) all the workshops, keynote speakers, and panels from the convention.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols: Protocols are still being finalized. Tickets are refundable until June 3, 2022.

YouTube Conference #3: Social in the City

Social in the City is a three-day event, with Friday being dedicated to creators such as YouTubers. Content creators can attend workshops, panels, and presentations from industry peers.

If you’re interested in being part of this year’s lineup, contact the organizers through their website. Ask about being part of The Creator Village. It’s an awesome place to hang out, meet fans, and sell some of your own merch.

Dates: Friday August 12, 2022 to Sunday August 14, 2022

Location: LondonExCeL in London, England

Cost for Creators: The Friday event for creators costs £24. Or you can bundle it with a weekend pass for £55.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols: Attendees must show proof of vaccination, a negative test, or natural immunity.

YouTube Conference #4: Buffer Festival

Buffer Festival is a film festival for digital creators from around the world. In the past, there’s been an event in London, England, and another one in Toronto, Canada. So far, only 2022 dates for Toronto have been announced.

Details have been slow to roll out. But past Buffer Festivals have included screenings, an award ceremony, and keynote speakers.

Dates: Friday August 26, 2022 to Sunday August 28, 2022

Location: Toronto, Canada (venue to be determined)

Cost for Creators: Ticket sales haven’t been announced.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols: Look for updates on their Twitter account.

YouTube Conference #5: Playlist Live

Playlist Live is a convention, concert, and festival all rolled into one weekend. The event brings together creators, fans, and brands to celebrate the video and social media industries.

If you attend, expect industry and community panels, workshops, and meet and greets. But Playlist Live also features musical performances, fireworks, and pool parties.

Dates: Friday September 2, 2022 to Sunday September 4, 2022

Location: World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida

Cost for Creators: An influencer pass is available for $199. There’s also the option to buy the influencer pass and PlayList merchandise for $234.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols: Currently, the venue is requiring attendees to wear face masks. Policies may be changed closer to the event date.

YouTube Conference #6: VidSummit

According to VidSummit, their goal is to give you insider insights into the industry. The convention is geared towards three categories of people: creators, marketers, and brands. Fans don’t attend the event, so creators can share the truth about what they do and how they succeed.

Mr. Beast, a YouTuber with more than 90 million subscribers, will be one of this year’s speakers.

Dates: Tuesday September 27, 2022 to Thursday September 29, 2022

Location: Sheraton Gateway in Los Angeles, California

Cost for Creators: $795 per person and this includes online access to re-watch sessions. Not able to attend in person? You can purchase a virtual pass, called Replays. It’s available for $199 and gives you streaming access to the conference sessions.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols: Masks are required and sanitation stations will be available. Rules about vaccination requirements will be available closer to the event. Details about refunds are available on their website.

YouTube Conference #7: TwitchCon

TwitchCon is back for 2022. And if previous conventions are any indication, tickets may sell out. For streamers, gamers, and fans, TwitchCon is the biggest event of the year.

For content creators, there will be workshops to help you improve your stream. For gamers, there will be esports competitions. And for everyone, there are meet and greets. If you’re into cosplay, start planning now.

Dates: Friday October 7, 2022 to Sunday October 9, 2022

Location: San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California

Cost for Creators: Tickets will go on sale this summer. Follow their Twitter account for updates.
