• How does subscription licensing work?

  With our subscription plans you can license as many tracks as you need to – there is no limit to the number of licenses you can generate within your plan. Each time you license a track within your subscription, this provides perpetual legal clearance for the use of the track in a single production and it also attributes an earning to the artist – so it’s important to generate a license for each separate project you’re working on.

• What does the membership plan cover? Where can I use the music?

  You can use TuneReel’s music almost everywhere! YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, TikTok, podcasts, presentations, wedding films, corporate videos – you name it! The Pro plan also covers client work, online ads and commercials (not TV), video games & apps, non-profit projects, film festival screenings, and channels with over 10,000 subscribers (see Compare Plans above). The only exception for our membership plans is if you need to use a track in broadcast (TV/radio), theatrical releases, or on VOD/OTT streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Tubi, etc.), in which case simply contact us for a Universal License. Otherwise – you’re all set!

• Does my plan cover my clients?

  On the Pro, Lifetime and Organization plans, yes! When you license a track within your plan, this provides clearance for the use of the piece of music in a specific production, irrespective of who may be using, publishing or distributing the content. This means that whether the content is distributed/published by yourself, your own company, a client or another third party, the music is cleared to be used in the production, so long as the content and distribution is within the scope of your chosen plan.

• How many users can use a membership?

  The Basic plan is for individuals only. The Lifetime Deal is for individuals and freelancers only (one person). The Pro plan covers organizations of up to 100 people, with up to 3 people on your team using TuneReel – for example a small production company, or a company’s in-house video team of up to 3. If 4 or more people will be using TuneReel, or your organization has more than 100 people, you’ll need an Organization Plan – request a quote here.

• What’s the difference between the Organization Plan and a Universal License?

  The Organization Plan is about who is using TuneReel: it’s a Pro membership sized for larger companies and teams, with the same coverage as Pro. A Universal License is about where a project is released: it covers a specific production going to TV/radio broadcast, theatrical release, VOD/OTT streaming, or a broadcast ad campaign. If an Organization Plan member has a project headed for broadcast or streaming, that project needs a Universal License.

• Can I screen my film at film festivals?

  Yes, with an Extended License – included with the Pro, Lifetime and Organization plans, or $15 per track. The Standard License (Basic plan) doesn’t cover festival screenings. If your film later gets distribution (VOD/OTT, broadcast or a theatrical release), you’ll need to upgrade to a Universal License before that release.

• Can I upgrade my plan?

  Yes. Contact us and we’ll move you to the plan that fits – for example from Basic to Pro, or from Pro to an Organization Plan as your team grows.

• Can I use TuneReel music in AI-generated content?

  Not with an unlimited download membership. Our membership plans don’t allow the use of our music in AI-generated content – content that is primarily created using automated processes without significant human intervention. Single track purchases can be used in AI-generated content. If you’re not sure whether your project counts as AI-generated, contact us before licensing.

• How long do the licenses last?

  All TuneReel licenses are granted in perpetuity – this means that once you have generated the license for a given project, you never need to worry about attaining another license for that content (provided that the usage remains within the scope of your License Agreement).

• Will I be able to cancel my subscription on my own?

  Yes, once you sign up to a membership plan you can cancel your auto-renewal from your account settings.

• Can I get a refund if I’m not happy?

  Yes. If you’re not satisfied with your membership, contact us and we will refund you based on your usage and remaining period. If you didn’t license a single track you will receive a complete and full refund.

• Can I use the music I downloaded if I cancel my subscription?

  Yes, but they are only valid for the project they were licensed for, and as long as the end product was completed before your TuneReel membership lapsed and ended. Once you cancel you cannot use the music in new projects.

• Do you offer special pricing for educational programs?

  Yes we do. In fact, we offer a totally free academic plan for film students.

• Will I get a copyright claim if I use music from TuneReel?

  If you do, TuneReel will remove it for you! Visit the YouTube Copyright Claim Removal page to submit your removal request.

• What payment methods do you offer?

  We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Organization Plans can be invoiced.
